1 (6 oz. pkge.) chocolate chips
½ cup sugar (Grandma didn’t use the sugar in her recipe)
3 Tblspns. corn syrup
½ cup bourbon
2 ½ cups vanilla wafer finely crushed (5 doz. or 1 box)
1 cup finely chopped walnuts


Directions:

Melt chocolate chips in double boiler (or microwave oven). Remove from heat and stir in corn syrup and sugar (optional).

Blend in bourbon, combine wafers and nuts. Add to chocolate mixture.

Form into one inch balls and roll in confectioners sugar. Let ripen in container covered with plastic wrap several days.

These are another holiday hit. People love the boozy bourbon balls. My Mom first started making these in the late 60s or early 70s. They are so easy, but time consuming, because you have to roll the balls small. They make great Christmas gifts to neighbors and friends.
