1 egg, 1 c. milk, 1 T. grated orange, 2 T. melted shortening, 1/4 c. orange juice, 2 1/2 c. flour, 2/3 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 c. chopped nuts, 1/2-3/4 c. ground dried apricots.

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg; add milk, orange juice, grated orange and shortening. Set aside. Mix flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder; add to liquids. Mix.
Do not beat. Add nuts and apricots. Makes 2 loaves. Bake at 350 about 30-40 minutes.

This is from Betty Wedlake, who was the long time piano teacher of Marcia, Cindy and Jan. It was served at piano recitals along with cookies decorated with musical notes and symbols--that's the truth!
