1 hefty slice of fatback OR
3 slices of bacon & 2 beef bullions.

1 pkg. Pinto beans, washed and sorted.
Put water in a sma

Directions:
Directions:
Put water in a small sauce pan. Add the fatback or bacon and bullion. Bring to a boil then cut off heat. Discard meat.
Wash and sort 1 pkg of Pinto beans.
Place beans and seasoned water in heavy pot on stove or a crock pot. on high for 4 to 5 hours. Originally cover beans with enough water for them to increase in size 3 times and still be covered.
Cover and cook on STOVE: all day on low then high for one hour. CROCK POT: high for 4 to 5 hours then low if cooking longer.
Serve with cornbread and chopped onions.
