1 c. long grain rice, (not instant)
1/4 c. crisco,
1/4 c. chopped onions
1 c. chicken broth
1/2 tsp. salt
1c. tomatoe juice
1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan, heat Crisco. Add the rice, stirring constantly until lightly browned. Drain oil off. Add rest of ingredients, cover. Stir often and cook on low heat until most of liquid is absorbed and rice is tender. (Usually 30-40 min.)
Can double recipe if feeding a large number of people.
