1 1/2 sticks butter, 1 can cherry pie filling, 1 can crushed pineapple (no sugar added-1 lb. 4 oz.), 1 box yellow cake mix, 1 c. chopped walnuts.

Directions:
Grease a 9x13 inch glass pan. Dot the bottom of the pan with 1/2 stick butter. Pour the following in layers (do not mix anything): cherry pie filling, crushed pineapple, cake mix (as it comes from the box--do not prepare cake). Dot the top of the cake with the rest of the butter. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake in preheated, 350 oven for 50 minutes or until brown. Serve over vanilla ice cream or alone.

Variation: Use 2 cans of cherry pie filling and a box of chocolate cake mix. Use butter and pecans in the same way. Sprinkle 1/8 cup of sugar over all the ingredients.
