1/2 cup Shortening
1 cup Sugar
1 Egg
2 cups Flour
1 t Baking Soda
1/2 t Salt
1/2 t Cloves
1 t Cinnamon
1 cup Applesauce
1 cup Nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar and add egg beating well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, clove and cinnamon. Add alternately with applesauce to creamed mixture, then add nuts. Bake in greased tube pan @ 350 for 1 hour.
