"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Now I know where June got her inability to write directions down for recipes. Evalina had the same problem!! Anyway, I do remember this salad -- it's very good and I had forgotten all about it. You can substitute bing cherries for strawberries if you want. You can also use frozen strawberries (thawed) if fresh are not in season, but drain them in colander well before adding.
