5 cups rhubarb
3 cups sugar

Directions:

Mix the two ingredients and let stand over night, covered. Then boil 10 minutes. Add 1 box of strawberry Jello. You can add red food coloring if desired. Stir well and put in jars and seal with parrafin.

This too was my mother's recipe and one of my favorite things to eat! And why not--with all that sugar in it!? I'm thinking that in this day and age, we'd not seal it with parrafin, but put it in the freezer to keep until time to eat it.
