1-8oz pkg. cream cheese
1 unbeaten egg
1/3 cup sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 (6oz.) pkg or 1 cup chocolate chips
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cut cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup water
1/3 cup oil
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the cream cheese, egg, sugar (1/3 cup) and salt. Beat until smooth. Add chocolate chips and set aside. Sift together the dry ingredients into a bowl, then add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla. Beat until well comvines. Fill muffin cups lined with paper fillers 1/3 full with chocolate batter. Top each one with 1 heaping tsp. of the cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with sugar and chopped blanched almonds, if desired. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.
