3 c. whole milk
4 large eggs
1/2 + 1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk, cool slightly. In a large mixing bowl beat eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt with a wire whisk just long enough to blend thoroughly. Stir in milk. Pour mixture into small custard cups. Place cups in a pan of hot water 1 " in depth. Bake in preheated 300 oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Insert knife 1" from edge of cup; this should come out clean. Cool on wire rack. Serve warm or cold. Refrigerate until used.
