1 c butter
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c flour, plus 2 tbsp. , unsifted all purpose
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat until fluffy, add vanilla, sift dry ingredients and combine with butter and sugar mixture. Chill at least 1 hour. Roll into tiny balls, dip in sugar and press down with a flat bottom glass which is also dipped in sugar. Do not grease cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes
