5 large sweet potatoes (clean, pierce and wrap in foil- bake until soft.. see below)
3/4 c. whole or 2% milk
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs, beaten well
1 c. sugar

Topping
1 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 butter
1 c. pecans - chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Bake sweet potatoes wrapped in foil, on baking sheet @ 350 until soft. Cool, peel and place in a large mixing bowl. Add all other ingredients and mix with electric mixer until smooth. Pour into a buttered 9x13 baking dish. Bake @ 350 for 30 min. Remove and add topping below, place back in oven and continue baking for 20-30 min until topping is bubbly. Let rest to set up for about 10 min -then enjoy!

Topping :
Melt butter and brown sugar together and mix in flour and pecans. Sprinkle over potatoes.

This was the very first recipe I ever made.. I was 9 yrs old! It's also always been one of the things I make every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
