3 Tbsp cornstarch
1/3 cup sugar
cup cold milk
1 cup scalded milk
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cornstarch, sugar; add cold milk. Gradually add hot milk. Cook until thick. Add vanilla and serve.

For chocolate:
Increase sugar to cup and total amount of milk to 2 cups. Mix 1/3 cocoa with cornstarch and sugar.

For cornstarch custard:
Beat 2 eggs with 2 Tbsp milk. Stir in some of the hot mixture and add the last 5 minutes.
