3 egg yolks
1 1/2 c. milk
1 c. sugar
pinch of salt
6 tbsp. flour
2 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 stick margarine
1 tsp. vanilla

Meringue:

3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. vanilla
6 tbsp. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Sift sugar, flour, salt, and cocoa together in top of a double boiler. Add beaten egg yolks, then milk. Mix well. Place boiler over boiling water and continue stirring to prevent lumping. When filling is thick, remove boiler from heat, add margarine and vanilla and mix well until filling is smooth. Pour in cooked pie shell. Top with meringue and brown in oven or serve with a dollop of Cool Whip.

Meringue:
Beat egg whites and vanilla at high speed in a stainless steel bowl - gradually add sugar at intervals until the meringue is fluffy and peaks.
