1-1/2 lbs ground beef or turkey
4 medium onions, quartered into petals
4-5 green peppers, bite size
1 cup cooked rice, barley or macaroni
4 - 8 oz cans low sodium tomato sauce
1 T parsley
1 T garlic powder
1 t basil
1 t oregano
ground black pepper to taste

Directions:
Brown meat in skillet, drain. Cook onion, peppers & garlic in covered stockpot until tender. Add cooked meat and remaining ingredients. Simmer for 1 hour. Add cooked rice or barley or macaroni. Reheat briefly and serve.
