Ingredients: Batter 1/2 C. sifted flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 3/4 C. white sugar 1-1/2 T. unsweetened Cocoa 1/2 C. milk 2 T. melted butter 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 C. chopped nuts

Directions:Mix together dry ingredients, stir in milk, melted butter and vanilla extract. Mix batter until smooth and add chopped nuts. Pour into an 8x8 square baking pan.
Topping 1/2 C. white sugar 1/2 C. brown sugar 5 T. unsweetened cocoa 1 C. cold water Combine all topping ingredients except water. Sprinkle topping evenly over top of batter. Pour 1 C. water over entire surface and bake at 350 for 45 mins. |

Notes: This is a fabulous cake that makes its own fudge sauce -- great with whipped cream or ice cream. It was one of my favorite desserts when we were kids (and even now).
