1 cup white sugar
3/4 cup shortening
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening together. Add egg and molasses. Beat well. Sift together flour, cinnamon, ginger, salt and soda and add to mixture. Form into small balls, roll in sugar. Bake on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10 - 12 minutes. Makes 4 1/2 doz.
