Directions: |
Directions:Wash and clean shrimp. Roll in dishtowel, wring all excess water out. Mix softened cream cheese with soft butter, add several drops of Worcestershire Sauce. Place plastic wrap in small round bowl in two directions, so it covers entire inside of bowl. Spread cream cheese carefully over plastic wrap -- thin but not too thin, reserving small amount of cream cheese mixture to place on top. Once cream cheese is spread in bowl, place shrimp inside and gently pull the plastic wrap around shrimp in bowl -- it can be difficult -- using your fingers, smooth out and try to wrap cream cheese tightly against shrimp -- put remainder of cream cheese mixture on top and smooth out to make a ball shape -- using plastic wrap to help you shape it. Wrap ball in plastic wrap and chill overnight. Unwrap and place on serving dish -- pour cocktail sauce over ball and serve with crackers -- replenish cocktail sauce as needed. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. You can make your own cocktail sauce by mixing 1 C. ketchup, 1 - 2 tsp. horseradish, 1 tsp. lemon juice and a drop of Worcestershire sauce. |

Notes: I've never known anyone else who makes this except us, so maybe June created the recipe. This is a very popular appetizer at parties - people love this beyond belief! Plus, it is beautiful on a buffet table.
