3 tsp. shortening
3 tsp. butter
11/4 c. confectionery sugar
grated rind of one lemon
2 eggs
11/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. nuts
juice of one lemon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, butter and 1 c. of the conf. sugar; add eggs, one at a time. Add flour, baking powder, milk and nuts.
Bake in loaf pan at 350 for 45 minutes. Poke holes with a toothpick on top of warm bread. Mix remaining 1/4 c. of sugar and lemon juice; pour over warm bread.
