2 cups flour
1 cup buttermilk
4 Tlbs Shortening
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda

Directions:
Directions:
in the flour put salt, soda, and sift into bowl. Min in shortening with tips of fingers, or chop in with spoon, add buttermilk, using spoon, and make into a dough. Lift onto a well floured board, knead just to get smooth and firm enough to handle. Roll or pat out to one half inch thick, cut, place on baking sheet, bake in hot oven about ten minutes.
