Ingredients:
6 - 8 medium potatoes
2 lbs. fresh carrots
1 bunch celery
1 large onion
Beef (boiling beef, ribs, soup bones)
1 qt. tomatoes
1 qt. tomato juice

Directions:
Directions:
Cook meat in a large stockpot (8 - 10 qt.). Remove meat from broth; trim fat, remove bones and cut into pieces. Chop onions, celery, carrots and potatoes and add to broth. Add in this order. Cut potatoes and carrots in chunks. When vegetables are done add tomatoes, juice and meat, salt and pepper to taste. I also add worchestershire sauce to help season. Serve with crackers or cornbread.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
When our children and grandchildren came to Grandma's house from Houston to visit, Grandma always had to have a big pot of "good ol homemade country stew" ready to eat when they got here. Also when I visited them in Houston I had to make a big pot while I was there. "No one could make this like Grandma does"
