3 sticks butter
1 box confectioners sugar
6 large eggs
3 1/2 cups sifted plain flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. butter flavoring

Frosting:
1 box confectioners sugar
1 egg white
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup Crisco
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: Cream margarine with sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flavorings then flour. Mix well. Bake in greased and floured pans. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.

Frosting: Dump in large bowl and beat well for 5 minutes. --Aunt Clyde would usually double the frosting recipe. It is very good and can be used for decorating. If you want to use a color, then cut down on amount of water and add food coloring.
