Directions:
Use 2 (8 inch) round layer cake pans and a clear glass punch bowl. Make cake according to box directions. Cool. Cut layers horizontally by pulling string through so you have 4 layers. Make vanilla pudding according to directions and let cool. Mix 2 1/2 cups boiling water with 2 pkgs. strawberry gelatin to dissolve. Add the 2 pkgs. of partially thawed birries. Put in refrigerator until mixture thickens but not too firm to assemble. In the punch bowl add 1/4 of the gelatin mixture, first layer of cake, 1/4 more gelatin. Spread layer of cool whip then a layer of pudding. Second layer of cake, gelatin, cool whip and pudding. Continue layering, ending with cool whip. Garnish with strawberries if desired.
