"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Directions:
In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; set aside.

In an 8-quart bowl, beat butter at medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 1 minute. Gradually beat in granulated and brown sugars; beat to combine, about 2 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each is added. Beat in vanilla.

Stir in the flour mixture until just combined. Add chocolate chips, oats, coconut and pecans and stir into the mixture.

For each cookie drip 1/4 cup dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing 3 inches apart. Bake in preheated oven for 17 to 20 minutes until edges are lightly browned; rotate sheets halfway through. Remove cookies to rack to cool.

For 6 dozen smaller cookies, use 2 Tbsp. of dough for each cookie and bake 15 - 18 minutes.
