3 C. canned Tomatoes, home 3 T. Brown Sugar
canned or store bought 1 tsp. Salt
1/4 C. Butter 1/8 tsp. Pepper
3 C. med. Bread Crumbs, Ground Allspice
coarse, stale (not dry)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat tomatoes and butter in saucepan over moderate heat just till butter melts. Mix in crumbs, sugar, salt, and pepper. Spoon into buttered 9"x 9"x 2" baking dish. Sprinkle ground allspice lightly over top. Bake, uncovered, in hot 400 oven for 40 to 45 minutes just until mixture seems set in the middle and is lightly browned. Let stand at room temperature 5 minutes before serving.
