2 cups whole wheat PASTRY flour
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
4 eggs
2 cups white sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
11/2tsp. salt
4 tlbs. lemon juice
CHOCOLATE SQUARES:
2/3 cup butter
2 one-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
to mix and 45 minutes to bakeHeat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream butter and flour.
Add sugar and cream again for 2 minutes.
Press evenly in bottom of greased 9x11 cake pan.
Bake 20 minutes & remove from oven.
Beat remaiing ingredients until light and fluffy.
Pour over hot curst and bake about 25 more minutes or until no imprint remains when touched lightly in center.
Cool and cut into 1 1/2 inch bars.
CHOCOLATE SQUARES:
Same as above except decrease butter to 2/3 cup.
Omit lemon juice and add 2 squares melted unsweetened chocolate, cooled, and vanilla to beaten egg mixture.
