1 c. soft butter
2/3 c. sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tsp almond flavoring
1/2 tsp vanilla flavoring
Mix together well and work in with hands:
2 1/2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Refrigerate dough, roll out with flour and cut out with cookie cutters. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 400 for 7 - 10 minutes and decorate when cooled.
Icing :
1 lb box powdered sugar
1/3 c. white crisco
1/4 c. milk (add a little more if needed)
1 tsp. almond flavoring

Dad made Santa cookies for years for his students at school. I made sure he always made enough for us at home too. My favorites were the stars and bells because I could eat more of them! For the last two Christmas' without Dad, I made his cookies. It is a wonderful memory of Dad and how much he loved to bake cookies and give them away.
