2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup salad oil
1 (8 3/4oz) can cream-style corn
1 cup ground corn meal (yellow or white)
1 tsp salt
3 tsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. sugar or to taste (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375.
Combine all ingredients and mix until smooth.
Pour into 8X8 inch greased pan.
Bake at 375 for 45 minutes.

This is an excellent cornbread. It is from Tidewater. The first time I tried it was at the Wright's house in Raleight on New Year's Day 1999. I have been making it ever since. It original recipe does not call for sugar, but it you like your cornbread a little sweet, add to your liking.
