3 Tablespoons Cornstarch (divided)
1/2 cup water (plus a little extra)
2 Tablespoons water (divided)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 pound boneless round steak, cut into 3-inch strips (or 1 pound boneless skinless chicken)
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
4 cups broccoli florets
1 small onion, cut into wedges
1/3 Cup Soy Sauce
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspon ground ginger
Pork Fried Rice

Directions:
Directions:
In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons cornstarch, 2 tablespoons wayter and garlic powder until smooth.
Add beef and toss. (if you use a plastic container with a lid, place lid on container and shake beef with mixture.)
In a large skillet or wok over medium high heat, stir-fry beef in 1 tablespoon oil until beef reaches desired doneness; remove and keep warm,
Stir-fry broccoli and onion in pan drippings for 4-5 minutes. Return beef to pan. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and remaining cornstartch and water until smooth, add to pan, cook and stir for 2 minutes, serve over rice.

I find that if you have all your ingredients ready to go before you start this recipe, that it makes it go a lot smoother. This cooks up pretty quick. Also, try this with the pork fried rice recipe posted under misc.
