6 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
3 egg whites
1/2 cup lime juice (fresh squeezed)
1 T lime grating
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 t cream of tartar
few drops of green food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg yolks with 1/4 cup sugar until lemon color. Blend in condensed milk. Slowly add lime juice and mix well. Add gratings and food coloring. Add cream of tartar to egg whites, beat until foamy. Continue beating. Add remaining sugar very slowly beating until egg whites peak.
Fold in egg whites into filling mixture. Pour into baked pie shell. Bake about 15 minutes at 350 Cool and top with heavy whipped cream. Decorate with lime slices. Refrigerate for 3 hours
