1 cup sugar
3/4 cup shortening,,, I use butter
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
2 eggs
2 cups sifted flour
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1 tblsp lemon juice
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
cream sugar and butter together, add eggs, vanilla mix well, sift flour, salt and soda together,, add flour mixture, bananas(with lemon juice) mix thoroughly, stir in walnuts bake in greased loaf pan in a 350 oven 50 to 55 mins... or until center of loaf is no longer sticky when tested with a toothpick,,, recipe also makes 5 mini loaves...
