POLISH SAUSAGE AND SAUERKRAUT


LARGE CAN OF SAUERKRAUT OR 2 LB BAG OF DELI STYLE SAUERKRAUT.

1 ONION ABOUT 1 LB POLISH SAUSAGE (SMOKED)
1 TBSP BARLEY AND SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE. IF YOU LIKE SPICY FOOD SHAKE ABOUT 5 DROPS HOT SAUCE.

HOT WATER TO COVER.

Directions:
RINSE THE KRAUT IN HOT WATER, COARSE CHOP THE ONION AND CUT SAUSAGE INTO 2 TO 3 INCH PIECES.

PUT ALL INTO DUTCH OVEN AND COOK ON TOP OF STOVE FOR ABOUT 1 HOURS.

SERVE WITH MASHED POTATOES AND RYE BREAD AND BUTTER.

This can also be prepared in a crock pot, just start on high for about 10 to 15 minutes and then on low until you want to serve it.
