1 cup flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 dash of salt
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 cup seedless raisins
1 cup chopped figs
1 cup grated raw carrots
1 cup grated raw potatoes
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup butter or shortening
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Sift measured flour and re-sift 3 times with baking powder, soda, and spices. Wash and dry raisins and figs, grate carrots and potatoes and chop walnuts. Add sugar and whole egg, shortening, and cream five minutes or until mixture is smooth. Fold in flour mixture and rest of ingredients mixing enough to blend. Steam 3 hours.
