2 1/2 to a 3 lb. chicken (cut into pieces), 1 c. bisquick, 2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. paprika, 1/8 tsp. pepper, 2 Tbl. shortening,1 Tbl. butter, 1 can cr. of chicken soup, 1 1/2 c. milk,1/2 tsp. parsley, 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
Dumpling Mixture: Use the recipe on back of bisquick box for dumplings or for homemade ones.
flour, eggs, and milk , a pinch of salt. Stir together make the dough thick and pasty.

Wash chicken and pat dry. Mix bisquick, salt, paprike, and pepper in plastic bag. Shake chicken,piece by piece, so the chicken is coated thoroughly. Melt shortening and butter in frying pan. Brown chicken. Remove chicken, drain fat, stir in soup, milk, and add chicken. ( I save about 1/2 cup of chicken drippings for flavoring ) Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Mix your dumpling mix, and drop by spoonsfull into chicken gravy, cook uncovered 10 min., cover and cook another 10 min. more.
