6 eggs, 2 c. sugar, 2 c. sour cream, 1 c. milk, 8 c. flour, 8 tsp. baking powder, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. nutmeg, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. vanilla

Beat eggs until thick and lemon colored. Add sugar, beat again. Add sour cream and milk, beat well again. Sift in dry ingredients. Let chill in the refridgerator for several hours, then roll out to 1/4 inch thick. Cut with doughnut cutter and fry in lard heated to 375

This recipe is from our red church cookbook, but I have just discovered you can use commercial sour cream. They turn out great. I also changed the spices a little bit. For I like cinnamon in my doughnuts... Happy Cooking
